You may have noticed the sponsor links either above or to the right of this post. I consider these to all be worthwhile, God-centered ministries and organizations. The newest addition is The Elisha Foundation. As their website explains:
“The Elisha Foundation was founded to provide refreshment and encouragement to families caring for people with special needs. Through programs such as family retreats, we seek to provide access to resource professionals, educational specialists and other valuable resources while spending refreshing quality time as a family.”
Next week I’ll hopefully be posting an interview with founder Justin Reimer. Along with his wife Tamara, Justin sensed a call from God to minister to families with special needs when their 11-year old son, Elisha, was born with Down Syndrome. After over 8 years of waiting and praying the Lord opened the door of ministry to them and the inaugural Elisha Foundation Retreat was kicked off in December of 2005. The Elisha Foundation now provides many outlets for people wanting to serve among the disabled community.
