Though not written from an explicitly Christian perspective, there is some solid “common grace” truth in this list of Nine Things Successful People Do Differently by Dr. Heidi Grant Halvorson which appeared in the Harvard Business Review. Read them through the lens of a Theocentric, Christ-exalting, God-dependent grid. Pull the weeds and enjoy the flowers:
1. Get specific.
2. Seize the moment to act on your goals.
3. Know exactly how far you have left to go.
4. Be a realistic optimist. (Hey! That’s what I said.)
5. Focus on getting better, rather than being good.
6. Have grit.
7. Build your willpower muscle.
8. Don’t tempt fate. (Clearly, I would phrase that differently.)
9. Focus on what you will do, not what you won’t do.
Read the whole thing.
